Due to Covid 19 restrictions all meetings of the Community Councils have been cancelled until 14th September at the earliest. Kilmorack Community Council is presently working to arrange meetings through Microsoft Teams software but there are issues due to poor internet access for some Councillors and the bandwidth that MS Teams require for video conferencing. This we are working to resolve. Once in place local residents wanting to take part in a CC meeting will be able to request to join the meeting as a guest.

Residents of the area with issues or concerns may contact the Chairman or the Secretary to discuss any details. Behind the scenes the Community Council has continued to operate through phone and email and has been involved in concerns over felling by the quarry during lockdown and noise at the substation. We are also in discussion with SSE about a major enlargement of Wester Balblair to service the added capacity of Lochluichart Wind Farm extension. Road issues and trees have received our attention and as and when possible grass cutting on Altyre and at the Toll bypass have been commenced by our contractors. Concerns expressed on Social Media in regard to maintenance work at the Kilmorack Cemetery were explored and clarified as ongoing action in support of a work program agreed between our local Councillors, Kilmorack Community Council and Cemeteries. Social Media can be a mixed blessing and we would encourage residents to contact ourselves or the Council first before launching into sometimes unfortunate comments. We have also had meetings with Breedon Quarry since the end of furlough and our Chairman was most involved in support for those isolated due to the Pandemic. In most cases those in our community were well supported by neighbours and family.
