Kilmorack Cemetery

There are two Cemeteries in Kilmorack, the Old Cemetery which is historic and the current Cemetery which is behind the Old Kirk which is now an art gallery. Such is the way in so much of the Highlands. The Cemeteries are maintained by Highland Council to a high standard but space is now at a premium.

You can buy a burial plot (lair) in advance within a number of the burial grounds. Although you may choose where the plot is, certain parts of the burial ground may not yet be available and plots must be sold in a structured way. You can do this directly, or as part of making funeral arrangements with a Funeral Director. Contact the Bereavement service at Highland Council for more information.

Those wishing to establish familial ties may find it best to contact the Family History Room at the Highland Archive Centre at Bught Park in Inverness who keep historic  records of births, marriages and deaths in the Highland region.
