Minutes of Meeting 3rd September 2026: Proposed: Roy Templeton, Seconded: Mark Hedderwick

Police Report: No Report Matters Arising:

  • Fanellan – No up to date information
  • Black Bridge: Most Councillors visited the Consultation meeting at Phipps Hall and took a positive view about the proposed new parallel bridge but are at a loss about why the old Black Bridge needs to be closed for any period for assessment. It would seem that such work needs to be done at the site of the new bridge which is now a distance from the existing Black Bridge.
  • A831: There are ongoing concerns about this proposed closure and the reasons for not using Direct Drilling are technically incorrect. AF has asked for details of the test drilling which no one is aware of. But SSEN have been unable or unwilling to provide. There was also comments that when the undergrounding of the Braes took place then was no total road closure then so why now.
  • Ballach Wind Farm. – Not on October’s list and planners have been advised of further documents to be lodged so we await developments.
  • Spiittal to Loch Buidhe, Beauly OHL – In process to a PLI. THC Have raised an objection and everything is somewhat confused as process seems a bit unusual. Ian Kelly is keeping us up to date,
  • Beauly to Peterhead OHL – No real clear information but under consideration.

Chairman’s Business:

  • The Chairman expressed ongoing concern that the Speed Sign on the Altyre approach to Wester Balblair has not received any response from Breedons.
  • With all about us somewhat chaotic the Chairman has suggested resuming the local CC meetings with Kiltarlity, Strathglass, Kirkhill and Bunchrew and Kilmorack.

Secretary:

  • Wreath has arrived. The Chairman will be away in Edinburgh that day.
  • Community Engagement with Andrew Baxter MSP. Contact will be the Secretary.
  • Highland Council Staff Recognition Awards.  Alistair Macleod, Roads recommended as well as Arlene Gibbs, Legal and Corporate Governance.

Planning: No Report

Treasurer: Balance at bank £4426.90. Discussion regarding a further cut on Altyre. RT to liaise.
